Highbav SEO Audit checks the webpage you choose, on your device. The extension does not send audit data to Highbav or third parties, track your browsing, or keep an audit history.
01Scope of this policy
This policy covers the Highbav SEO Audit browser extension, version 0.1.0, provided by Highbav. It describes the extension itself. Visiting the Highbav website or contacting us involves separate processing described below.
02Information the extension accesses
When you click “Audit this page,” the extension reads the current page’s URL, title, meta description, headings, canonical links, robots meta directives, image alt attributes, link URLs and labels, viewport settings, document language, protocol, and JSON-LD structured data. It uses these elements to produce an on-page SEO report.
It does not request your browsing history, cookies, passwords, payment details, or form field values. Page URLs and content can nevertheless contain personal or confidential information. Only audit pages you are comfortable processing locally.
03How audit information is used
The audit runs locally in your browser after you request it. Findings are returned to the extension popup for display. The extension does not upload webpage content, URLs, or results; use analytics or advertising trackers; sell data; or use data for unrelated purposes, creditworthiness, or lending decisions. It does not crawl other pages or fetch link destinations.
04Permissions
- activeTab: provides temporary access to the current tab following your interaction with the extension so it can audit that page.
- scripting: runs the audit function bundled with the extension on that page. The function reads page elements without changing them.
The extension does not request persistent access to all websites. It does not download or execute remote code.
05Storage, retention and downloaded reports
Audit results are held temporarily in the popup’s memory. The extension does not save results in browser storage or on a server. Closing the popup discards its report; the next audit starts a new report.
If you choose “Download report,” the extension creates a JSON file on your device containing the page URL, title, audit time, and findings. The file remains until you delete it. Your operating system, backup, or sync settings may affect downloaded files. Review reports before sharing them, especially for private pages or URLs containing identifiers.
06External links and support
The extension includes a link to the Highbav website. It opens only when you click it and does not attach your audit report. Visiting the website is subject to the Highbav website privacy policy, including its hosting and cookie practices.
If you contact Highbav, we receive the contact details and information you choose to send so we can respond. Do not send passwords or confidential audit reports. Contact messages are separate from the extension’s local audit processing.
07Your choices
You control when an audit runs and whether a report is downloaded. You can delete downloaded reports or uninstall the extension at any time. Highbav has no server-side audit history to retrieve or delete. The extension does not require an account.
08Policy updates
We will update this page and its effective date if the extension’s data practices change. Any future feature that changes access, storage, or sharing will need corresponding disclosures and permissions before it is released.
