A Beginner’s Guide to Automated Email Flows

What Is an Automated Flow?

An automated flow is an email, or a short series of emails, that sends automatically when someone takes a specific action, rather than being sent out manually to your whole list.

Start With a Welcome Flow

It sends as soon as someone joins your list, introduces your brand, and sets expectations for what they will hear from you next.

Do Not Skip Abandoned Cart

This is the second priority for any store selling products online. It reminds someone about the items they left behind, usually a few hours after they leave the site.

The Overlooked Post-Purchase Flow

It follows an order, and it is one of the most overlooked. It can request a review, suggest a related product, or simply confirm that the order is on its way.

Build One Flow at a Time

Start with one flow, confirm it is working correctly, then add the next. A single well-built flow will outperform three flows that were rushed out at once.
